Kirsty and James Rogerson, 33, (pictured) are heartbroken after thieves stole their wedding gifts from the Charnock Farm in Leyland on August 10. They broke into the event (pictured right) around 3.30am. The mum-of-three said she and James only realised the presents were missing the following day when she unpacked the case (picture inset). Her father-in-law loaded up the car after breakfast and she assumed the gifts were all there. She rang the venue after discovering the empty boot and upon investigating their CCTV - they called Kirsty back to confirm they had been stolen. Kirsty, who is a infection control nurse at Royal Preston Hospital, added: 'It was short-lived relief that it was a stranger because I was annoyed the door had been left open. 'They spoke about how shaken up they were, as their young staff members had been in the room earlier.' The couple were offered £500 compensation to replace the gifts but the bride said she 'would have liked a little more empathy' as this 'doesn't compensate for the experience'.
