In order to see the deep branch of the ulnar nerve, we had to remove the flexor retinaculum, the trasnverse carpal ligament and many tendons of the wrist.
Besides innervating the little and the ring finger, the ulnar nerve, through its deep branch, innervates the adductor pollicis and this muscles performs the adduction of the thumb.
