Since the First World War ended in 1918 the practice of remembering those who fell during war has been observed with silence – a poignant contrast to the sound of guns and explosives which had been the norm previously.

The Church has also traditionally held a Requiem Eucharist for the souls of the departed and it is our custom at Truro Cathedral not only to hold Remembrance services earlier in the day, but to offer a Requiem in the evening at 6.30 pm. Faure’s Requiem will be sung by Truro Cathedral Choir for this service.
