Take a look at this incredibly rare and unique 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Pace Car, showcased at the renowned Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN) in Chicago! While it wasn’t one of the official cars that paced the Indianapolis 500, this Camaro served as a "festival" pace car, used by Chevrolet dealerships to promote their connection to the famous race. What makes this Camaro stand out is its 375-horsepower L78 big-block engine—an extremely rare feature. In fact, fewer than 10 festival pace cars were built with this high-performance L78 engine, and only around 100 L78 convertibles were ever produced, making this an extraordinary piece of automotive history.
The L78 engine in this car wasn’t the only thing that made it special. The car was equipped with some unique features, including a rare mid-level steering wheel, a specific master cylinder for the four-piston disc brakes, and two-piece rotors. These first-year parts add to the car’s allure, making it a one-of-a-kind find among collectors.
