South Korea's household debt continued to grow at an alarming rate in November, increasing by 7.5 trillion won ($6.8 billion).
According to figures released by the central Bank of Korea (BOK) on Tuesday, household debt reached 738 trillion won as of the end of November.
The figures show that household debt growth in October hit a record monthly high of 7.8 trillion won.
A sharp growth in housing mortgage loans has been attributed largely to the soaring household debt.
BOK added that deregulation of the property market and a declining interest rate also had an effect on the increase of household loans.
