In the Alfa Romeo Tonale Edizione Speciale version, Hybrid engine option is offered: 1.5 lt petrol 160hp variable geometry Turbo engine, dual-clutch 7-speed Alfa Romeo TCT transmission and 48-Volt "P2" electric motor.
In the first phase, the Tonale is offered as a front-wheel drive 160-HP Hybrid VGT version with a new 4-cylinder 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine with 160 HP and 240 Nm of peak torque, accompanied by a special 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and integrated 48-Volt 15-Volt. It is offered with a kW 55-Nm ''P2'' electric motor. It makes it possible for the 1.5 liter petrol engine to move the wheels even when the combustion engine is turned off.
Alfa Romeo chose this technical solution to offer an original electric driving experience. The transmission allows starting in electric mode, driving in electric mode at low speeds during parking and cruising, offering the typical performance of gasoline engines as well as providing a consumption level comparable to diesel engines (gasoline + electricity). It combines this action with a highly linear power transfer and excellent acceleration.
