Joking aside, in my experience, simple patterns catch the most fish. Don't get me wrong, I love to spend a long time on a fly, trying to get every little detail 100% correct. But most of the time, a black thread and a silver wire (think Zebra Midge) will catch just as many, if not more, fish.

This simple pattern is fish catcher and is a relatively easy tie. The X-Type body material from #Textreme gives it some subtle flash, while the CDC collar gives it a little movement. It pretty much can't go wrong. Tie a few up and try on your homewater, or bring a few to Iceland if you're coming to fish!
