Join Philip Grant, of Wembley History Society for this illustrated talk about a remarkable young woman, who made flying history more than 90 years ago.
With his interest in Kingsbury's history, Philip was aware that Amy Johnson learned to fly at Stag Lane aerodrome. A clue from a friend helped him to track down where she had lived in Kingsbury, before the solo flight to Australia that made her famous. How was it that an unknown secretary from Hull became a world famous pilot? Reading the letters to her family, from her rented room in Roe Green, sparked his interest in a story that he wanted to share.
