D-Link IP cameras support FTP and cloud recording. In this video, we will show you how to configure D-Link IP cameras (DCS 930L, 931L, 932L, 933L, 934L, 5010L and other old MJPEG models) to upload footage to a cloud FTP server.
First, create an account on your FTP server. We will use CameraFTP as an example. For a different FTP server, you just need to change the FTP server name.
Visit [ Ссылка ], sign up for a free trial and then log in, click Add Camera to add a camera. You can then click the Settings icon below the camera thumbnail to find the FTP account info which you will need later.
Now you need to find the camera's IP address. Please make sure your PC and the camera are connected to the same network. You can use the manufacturer's setup program to find the camera's IP address. You can also use CameraFTP's VSS software to find it.
Launch Internet Explorer and connect to the camera at the IP address, then log in. It will ask you to install an ActiveX control. Click Install to install it, then click Setup, it will display the main setup interface. You need to configure the following settings:
(1) Video or image parameters.
Click Video, then set the video resolution, bit rate and frame rate. The video resolution applies to both video and image recording. Click Save Settings
If you use CameraFTP service, then the parameters should not exceed your service plan parameters.
(2) Motion Detection settings.
This step is only required for motion-triggered recording. Click Motion Detection, enable it, then set the motion sensitivity and draw a motion detection area. Click Save Settings.
(3) FTP settings.
Click FTP, then enter the FTP account info from the Camera settings page on CameraFTP.com. Click Save Settings first, then you can click Test to test the FTP settings.
(4) Image or video uploading Settings.
For image recording, check "Enable uploading of images to an FTP server".
For continuous recording, select Always, for motion recording, select Motion/Sound detection.
Set the upload frequency based on your service plan.
For video recording, check "Enable uploading of video clips to an FTP server", then set continuous recording or motion recording based on your service plan, and set the max video size to 3072 KBytes and time to 15 seconds.
Please don't upload both images and videos.
That's all. Your camera will upload footage to the FTP server now. You can check the files in the FTP folder to verify whether it is configured correctly.
To view the camera footage, you need to download the files from the FTP server and play them locally. With CameraFTP service, you can install CameraFTP Viewer app for iOS and Android, or simply log in to [ Ссылка ] website.
