I am a fan of orange juice. All natural 100% ice cold orange juice is just about as good a beverage as you will find.
Orange juice is considered a raw food beverage. And it is the most consumed raw food beverage in American.
I found some fun facts about orange juice:
Orange juice is the official beverage of Florida.
About 90 percent of the Florida orange crop is used to make orange juice.

Orange Juice hasn’t always been the breakfast drink it is today. In the mid 1910s there was an overproduction of oranges in California. The orange growers had no way to preserve the fruit or any of the juice for longer than a couple of days so they were about to destroy 30% of their trees.
However, at the same time, two main innovations saved the day.
One was pasteurization. The other was the national railway system Now, orange growers could juice their oranges, pasteurize them for longer storage and then ship the juice to be sold in bigger cities. Thus the mass production and mass marketing of orange juice began.
But, what about orange juice and diabetes? Well OJ has a Glycemic index of 50 and its Glycemic load is 12. This means it does affect blood sugar quickly. As a matter of fact, you have probably been told to drink OJ if your blood sugar reading is low to help bring it up.
It OJ good for diabetes? It is ok to drink on occasion with a breakfast. A small glass will give you plenty of vitamin C but it will raise your blood sugar so be aware of that. Keep an eye on your readings and all should be well.
