Lead: Lithuanian appeals court upheld on Friday a ruling of a lower court to extradite Lithuanian businessman accused of swindling Facebook and Google out of more than $100 million.

Evaldas Rimasauskas designed an email fraud scheme and stolen more 100 dollars from companies Facebook and Google and now is to stand trial in the United States.
The 48-year-old was arrested in March at the request of US authorities, who accuse him of deceiving the two US firms in 2013-2015 by posing as a large Asia-based hardware vendor.
‘It is obvious that the territory of this criminal act far exceeds Lithuanian republic. We talk about Latvia, about Cyprus, other states, not event to mention United States where companies are based from which money were embezzled by deception. Therefore, talks that court gave a special jurisdiction to United States have no basis. Investigation is much broader, United States have started it and country’s request to extradite our citizen was legitimate and lawful’, according to Chairman of Appeals court Algimantas Valantinas.
Rimasauskas denies the allegations. His wife was unhappy that Lithuania extradites a man who was among protesters in 1991 January events, peacefully protecting TV tower in Vilnius from Soviet soldiers who tried to overthrow the government after it declared independence.
