Homemade Sandwich Buns
Ingredients for 8 buns
The yeast mixture:
1 cup warm water
3 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
3 tablespoons sugar
The flour mixture:
422 grams bread flour (3 cups scooped and leveled)
54 grams all-purpose flour (1/3 cup scooped and leveled)
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 tablespoons softened butter
1 large egg, beaten
The egg wash:
1 egg beaten with 1 teaspoon water
For sprinkling:
Poppy or sesame seeds
Oven temperature/time: 400°F for 16-18 minutes
