Jackie, Juno and I hiked Black Elk Peak (formerly known as Harney Peak), the highest point in South Dakota at 7,244 ft, over Labor Day 2019. We hiked from the north side via Willow Creek which is not the standard route but we wanted to avoid the crowds and do some backcountry camping.
