The campaign for U.S. President Donald Trump has launched a lawsuit in Pennsylvania to put a halt on any further mail-in ballot counting, arguing they are not being given proper access to watch what is happening.
Trump is leading in the state by approximately 292,000 votes as of 6 p.m. local time., with approximately 1 million ballots still to be counted.
The president's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani was joined by Trump's son Eric, former Florida attorney general Pam Bondi, 2020 senior advisor Lara Trump and campaign senior advisor Corey Lewandowski to make the announcement.
According to reports, despite the allegation of a lack of transparency, Philadelphia city commissioner Al Schmidt said that people from both campaigns are watching the vote counting.
Trump has already requested a recount in the state of Wisconsin and filed a lawsuit in Michigan requesting the counting be halted alleging that his campaign had not been provided "meaningful access to numerous counting locations." The lawsuit says counting can resume when "meaningful access" has been granted.
