An estimated 10,000 people have taken to the streets of the capital this week in Extinction Rebellion’s latest round of protests and civil disobedience. So far around 300 protestors have been arrested, and although Charmain Kenner (67) and Arnold Pease (93) have managed to escape the handcuffs, they say they are more than happy to go to jail for their beliefs. Grandmother Charmain and grandad Arnold are just two of a growing number of older activists who call themselves XR Elders and Grandparents. They say they are protesting to secure their grandchildren’s futures and they join us live from Bank Junction ahead of the ‘Blood Money March’ against investment in fossil fuel.
