Choreographer Benjamin Millepied fell in love with Los Angeles when he first danced at the L.A. Music Center in the early 2000s. Now, the recently retired New York City Ballet principal dancer is starting a new company in Los Angeles. He talks with Amanda Fortini, a contributing writer to The New Yorker, about why he finds the city's arts scene invigorating, his collaborative vision for the new group, and how this all came about.
