Visiting the zoo can be one of the most interesting activities that one can do. A person gets close to nature and understands how an animal lives or what they do. However, at times, visiting the zoo can also be a danger if a specific animal runs out of its closure. Recently, a viral video showed a hippopotamus coming out of its enclosure and a security guard trying to push it back in for everyone's safety. This is an old video that is going viral once again. In the footage, a security gurad can be seen lightly slapping the enormous animal in an attempt to drive it back into the water. The hippo responds by opening its mouth in a display of might. Then the guard strikes it once more without seeming to be frightened. The hippo eventually turns around and leaves. The post's caption read, "Security Guard risking his life to save incredibly unalarmed zoo visitors from a hippo."

National Zoological Park is home to a large number of species of birds, reptiles and mammals which live in an environment that in many ways resemble their natural habitat. The zoo not only provides a home for endangered species, but also helps them to breed well in captivity. Some of the special attractions at the Zoo include White Tiger, Gaur, Jaguar, Rhinoceros, Elephants, Brow-antlered Deer (Sangai), Lion-tailed Macaque, Migratory birds (during winters) etc.The National Zoological Park (originally Delhi Zoo) is a 176-acre zoo near the Old Fort in Delhi, India. A 16th-century citadel, a sprawling green island and a motley collection of animals and birds, all in the middle of a burgeoning urban Delhi. The zoo is home to about 1350 animals representing almost 130 species of animals and birds from around the world. The zoo can be seen on foot or using a battery-operated vehicle which can be rented at the zoo.
The hippopotamusHippopotamus amphibius), also called the hippo, common hippopotamus or river hippopotamus, is a large, mostly herbivorous, semiaquatic mammal and ungulate native to sub-Saharan Africa. It is one of only two extant species in the family Hippopotamidae, the other being the pygmy hippopotamus The name comes from the ancient Greek for "river horse" After the elephant and rhinoceros, the hippopotamus is the third-largest type of land mammal and is the heaviest extant artiodactyl (in the traditional, non-cladistic sense of the term, excluding cetaceans). Despite their physical resemblance to pigs and other terrestrial even-toed ungulates, the closest living relatives of the Hippopotamidae are cetaceans (whales, dolphins, porpoises, etc.), from which they diverged about 55 million years ago. Hippos are recognisable by their barrel-shaped torsos, wide-opening mouths revealing large canine tusks, nearly hairless bodies, columnar legs and large size; adults average 1,500 kg (3,310 lb) for bulls and 1,300 kg (2,870 lb) for cows. Despite its stocky shape and short legs, it is capable of running 30 km/h (19 mph) over short distances. Hippos inhabit rivers, lakes, and mangrove swamps, where territorial bulls preside over a stretch of river and groups of five to thirty cows and calves. During the day, they remain cool by staying in the water or mud; reproduction and birth both occur in water. They emerge at dusk to graze on grasses. While hippos rest near each other in the water, grazing is a solitary activity and hippos are not territorial on land. The hippo is among the most dangerous animals in the world due to its highly aggressive and unpredictable nature. They are threatened by habitat loss and poaching for their meat and ivory canine teeth.
