Technology has evolved at a great pace and nowadays modern e-bikes appear to have very little in common with their equivalent flagship models from the 80’s. But is there anything that the modern E-Bike can do, that the 1988 Stumpjumper can’t?

The Specialized Levo with a full carbon fibre frame, 29” wheels, wide bars, short stem, disc brakes, and a dropper seat post versus the original Stumpjumper with a steel frame, 26” wheels, cantilever brakes and a threaded headset. Things really have moved on, but by how much?
