Today, we honor the lives lost during the Nanjing Massacre, which began on December 13, 1937, in Nanjing, China. The Nanjing Massacre lasted six weeks, and consisted of atrocious acts of mass murder and rape of Chinese civilians by the Imperial Japanese Army. This massacre was one of many insidious acts of hate that occurred during World War II. In her USC Shoah Foundation testimony, Nanjing Massacre survivor, Shuqin Xia, shares some of her most vulnerable moments and the great losses she suffered.
