In this video Matthew discusses the identification and edible uses of hackberry trees, including our local Southern species, the sugarberry (Celtis laevigata), as well as a few other species found across the US.
Hackberries are a major survival food for those who live near their small fruit, but the usefulness of this tree is unknown to many foragers. A tasty drink called "hackberry milk" can also be made with the fruit.
