Here's a short walk thru video of my cheap DIY truck canopy I used it extensively on my 2-month truck bed camping road trip out west this summer. After my camper was cancelled and I couldn't find a rack for my truck camper, I was forced to improvise and come up with a last-minute solution. It's cheap but very capable and adjust to 8ft! A great option for anyone looking for an affordable canopy or having a hard time finding one that attaches to a rack right now. It held up against all types of storms...hail, rain, and wind. It was quick and easy to set up and acts as a standalone shelter or place holder if needed. The best part all I needed to buy were 3 painter's poles which cost $7.00 each and 2 bungie cords at Walmart...everything else I already had, and you might also!
Materials:
3 extendable painter's poles ($7.00)
2 bungie cords ($2.00)
Para cord or any rope you have
4 Tent stakes
Pool noodle or anything soft for the middle pole
Tarp of your choice (I used the rainfly for my hammock)
