Sura Puttu Recipe:
Shark Fish - 300 grams
Salt - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - ½ tsp + ¼ tsp
Oil - 3 tbsp
Shallots (sliced) - ½ Cup
Garlic (finely chopped) - 3 tbsp
Ginger (finely chopped) - 1 tbsp
Green Chilli (finely chopped) - 3 tbsp
Curry Leaves - 2 Sprigs
Grated Coconut - ½ Cup
Salt - ½ tsp
Black Pepper Powder - ¼ tsp
Coriander Leaves - 1 tbsp
Cooking Instructions:
1. In a pot of water, add salt and turmeric powder and bring it to a boil. Add the fish, cover and cook for 5 minutes.
2. Remove it from the water. Mash it using a fork.
3. In a pan, heat oil and add the shallots, garlic, ginger and green chillies.
4. When they start to brown, add the curry leaves, grated coconut, turmeric powder and salt. Saute for 2 minutes.
5. Add the shredded fish and pepper powder, and saute for 2 more minutes. Add the coriander leaves and mix well.
Cooking Tips:
1. This dish can be made without coconut as well.
