So, here is part 2 of my recent trip to Fareham RailEx 2023. The show was on at the Fareham Leisure Centre over the weekend of 7th & 8th October 2023 and was put on by Fareham and District Model Railway club.
In this second film we visit the following model railway layouts:
K Street Yard : Is a 3.5mm Ho scale American railroad switching yard layout, set on the Milwaukee Road during the late 1950's into the 1970's. The location is somewhere in Spokane, Washington state.
Fairhaven Town : Is a 7mm scale O gauge end to end layout and another what if scenario - So, what if the LSWR and LBSCR had branch line extensions that met up at a location between Portsmouth and Southampton - Fairhaven Town would be the result!
Staindrop : is another 7mm scale O gauge layout. The layout is set in South West Durham during the late 1920's and portrays a fictional North Eastern Railway terminus that serves the large town.
Dobris : is another 3.5 mm scale Ho gauge layout, set in the former Czech Republic and features the town station at Dobris - an industrial town to the South West of Prague. DCC sound fitted rolling stock feature on this layout, set in the 2000's.
Lochty : Is a 4mm scale EM finescale gauge layout. The North British Railway built the East Fife Central Railway in 1900 and the model features the goods only terminus at Lochty - a very remote location, as you will see.
And finally, Llawryglyn : another 4mm scale EM gauge layout - but this time set in Wales, not Scotland. The small village is 5 miles South of Caersws, on the Cambrian mainline between Newtown and Machynlleth. Caersws was the junction for the Van Railway and this layout is a branch off of that line.
