10. SOUNDBITE (English) Duncan Walker, CEO of London-based Skyports Infrastructure:
"We've been on the journey of implementing flying taxis in Dubai now for a number of years, and this is a great milestone for us and for the industry as a whole. Dubai is, as it is with many forms of technology, an absolute leader, and it's going to be one of the first markets, probably the first market anywhere in the world. The plan is to have everything up and running by 2026. So there's a journey of three years from now until we see those first publicly available flying taxis in Dubai. And of course, there's lots of things that need to come together wherever you implement these systems. It's quite a high technological burden. So the vehicles need to be certified, they are certified by the Federal Aviation Authority in the U.S. and then certified over here in the Middle East as well. That technology is at the same level as a Boeing or an Airbus, so a very high threshold."

12. SOUNDBITE (English) Rachelle McDonald, visitor:
"Oh, it was fantastic. It flies, it's ever so smooth. You really don't feel any kind of motion sickness or anything like that. It's just you take off in a very kind of smooth motion and then you glide to the sky. And it's a fantastic experience because you can see all around, you can see, experience what it would be like as a passenger as well, looking out the windows. It’s brilliant."

15. SOUNDBITE (English) Ahmed Bahrozyan, an official in the emirate’s Roads and Transport Authority:
"We feel that the technology has progressed enough to the level where the manufacturers and operators of these vehicles are going through the advanced stages of certification with the different authorities worldwide. So we feel that three years is a reasonable time for us to launch the service. So we are announcing that in 2026 Dubai will be hopefully one of the world leaders in launching an air taxi service. We are very excited about this project because Dubai always wants to be a leader when it comes to advanced technologies and in the area of mobility, it doesn't get more advanced than air taxis. We also feel that the air taxi service fits in very well with the mobility solutions or ecosystem in Dubai."
