This video shows how to clean the Electrical Conductivity and pH sensors (George Fischer) connected to the Fertigation Manager. Climate Control Systems.
Instructions:
pH Sensor cleaning:
a. Do not remove the sensor directly from the pressurized system. Close the Inlet and Outlet ball valve.
b. Place a container at the bottom of the drain valve. Open the drain valve and drain the machine completely.
c. Locate the pH sensor connected to the sensor manifold on the left side of the drain valve.
d. Turn the in-line retaining nut counterclockwise to remove the pH sensor from the sensor manifold.
e. Gently wipe out the water on the electrode using non-abrasive cloth. Do not put any pressure on the glass stem at the bottom of the electrode.
f. Use soft bristle brush (paint brush) and electrode cleaning solution to clean the glass stem for any residue buildup.
g. Turn the electrical in-line threaded assembly (Yellow) in the clockwise direction to remove the electrode separately from the electrical in-line assembly.
h. Insert the electrode into the sensor Tee and align the electrode into the alignment notches in the PVC fitting.
i. Insert and turn the retaining nut clockwise to tighten and secure the pH sensor in the sensor tee.
j. Lastly, put the in-line threaded assembly (Yellow) and turn it in the anti-clockwise direction to tighten the assembly.
EC Sensor cleaning:
a. Do not remove the sensor directly from the pressurized systems. Close the Inlet and Outlet valve and drain the water inside the system by fully opening the drain valve.
b. All the sensors are attached to the PVC pipe Channel in the Fertigation manager. Locate the Electrical Conductivity (EC) sensor connected to the sensor manifold on the right side of the drain valve.
c. Unscrew the EC sensor cap and remove it from the Sensor Threaded Tee.
d. Gently wipe out the water on the Electrode with a paper towel or clean cloth because coatings on the electrode may cause slow response or drift.
e. Use a toothbrush to clean the hole at the bottom of the EC sensor and remove any residue inside the gap.
f. After thorough cleaning of the EC sensor, slowly insert the sensor back into the sensor threaded tee. Install the in-line EC sensor and make sure to align to the direction of flow.
