This Video talks about Article 16 of the Indian Constitution . The Article Provides for equality of opportunity in matters of public employment. Broadly the article is divided into six clauses which have been discussed in detail . According to the general rule there should be equality of all the citizens in matters of public employment and appointment . Also, there should be no discrimination on the basis of religion, race, caste, sex, descent, place of birth, and residence. Apart from the general rule the constitutional provision contains certain exceptions which provide that special provisions can be made for backward classes in matters of appointment or employment under the state .
