Dear friends, we congratulate you on the great twelfth feast of the Ascension of the Lord. Today I managed to capture these shots on the top of the Mount of Olives, in a place that is well known to pilgrims from all over the world as - the place of the Ascension of the Savior Jesus Christ. Today, the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate, Armenians and Copts served here at the same time. And not in the chapel of the Ascension itself, but outside in tents specially built for the service. Of the pilgrims this year, Romanians dominated, but there were also quite a few Coptic, Egyptian Christian and Armenian pilgrims.
Inside the chapel is the main shrine - the place of the Ascension with the imprint of the left foot on a part of the natural rock. The veneration of the imprint of the feet dates back to the seventh century AD.
