As part of the #DontGoViral campaign launched by UNESCO in partnership with the Innovation for Policy Foundation (i4Policy), a group of young musicians led by Nattembo Racheal Monicah remixed Ugandan Musician Bobi Wine’s openly licensed hit song Corona Virus Alert in English and Luganda.
"We are inspired by H.E Bobi Wine's Fight against COVID-19 through music. We hope this can also help to spread awareness against the pandemic. Please help to share this positive message so that we stop the calamity. Don't forget to follow the guidelines of the World Health Organization” underlined the young artists.
The DontGoViral campaign is an online campaign to crowdsource local openly licensed content to inform communities across Africa about COVID-19. All submissions to #DontGoViral will adhere to a Creative Commons License and will be released to the public so they can be remixed, adapted, translated and disseminated. Participants will also be requested to ensure that all themes and guidelines expressed conform with official health agency and WHO recommendations.
