You may have a character that doesn't fit Unreal's pre-made mannequin control rig and you don't want to learn the complicated and long process of making one from scratch? Modular Rig simplifies making control rigs! It allows you to drag and drop modules like (arm, spine, foot) to easily make a control rig.
There are not that many resources covering Modular Rig so I hope this helps you skip all the learning hurdles I went through and add some controls to your custom characters/rigs. I would love to see what rigs are made with this and see more resources!

This workflow allowed me to make a control rig easily for our new character, a manatee and the iteration has really helped between animating and adjusting shapes, controls and weights. It's nice to update the animations in-engine as well.
