How to cut a road bike steering tube... with a pipe cutter:

So...because I Macgyver most of my projects due to not having the special tools on hand, I elected to use a simple one tool method to cut my steering tube. Had I bought said special tools, it would have cost me easily over a hundred dollars. Some time ago I cut my aluminium seat tube with a pipe cutter and saw no reason why I could do the same here. Worked like a charm, and gave me a perfect cut in less than a minute. Check out the video. To lower the star nut I used a spare top cap and the screw. I threaded the allen screw down a little above but in the space on the top cap. Then tapped the screw down with a hammer, which lowered the star nut down evenly. So, no need to try to remove and replace the star nut. Enjoy.
