The CEO Levi Strauss CEO Chip Bergh was at Fortune's Brainstorm Green conference in Laguna Niguel, California being interviewed about sustainability in the clothing industry. And the question of water reduction in the manufacturing of clothing was brought up. He said that we are working with the cotton growers to find more sustainability in growing cotton. He also said that washing jeans is unnecessary and that he doesn't wash his jeans. He also added that he hasn't washed the pair of pants he is wearing in a year.
