The way in which the UK treats people seeking safety here is in urgent need of reform.
But, shamefully, the Government's Nationality and Borders Bill proposes reforms that focus on punishing refugees rather than protecting them. A more extreme version of past failures, the Bill is yet more of the same tired arguments, prejudice and political posturing that have undermined the UK's status as a safe haven for many years.
