September 21, 2022: At dusk, protests further intensified in several cities. In Amol, protesters tore down a large poster of regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei while a large crowd cheered and chanted anti-regime slogans.
Other videos from Amol show the governorate set on fire.
In Urmia, protests continued into the night. Protesters lit fires in the street and chanted “No fear! We’re all together” as security forces tried to disperse the demonstrations.
In Garmsar, security forces at a police station opened fire on demonstrators. Protesters resisted and continued their rally.
In Zahedan, a large anti-regime rally took place. Protesters were chanting anti-regime slogans including “Khamenei is a disgrace,” “Death to the dictator,” and “No to Gaza, no to Lebanon, my life for Iran.” The latter is a reference to the regime’s intervention in the countries of the region, which has come at a great cost to the Iranian people.
Protests began after the regime's "morality police" in Tehran arrested Mahsa Amini, 22, for supposedly violating the regime's hijab laws. Mahsa Amini was beaten by the police, which led to her death in a Tehran hospital.
Amini's death sparked outrage across Iran, triggered protests to the regime's hijab laws and the regime's repression in general. The protests have turned into full-fledged uprisings calling for regime change and the ouster of the mullahs.
