Hey guys, first of all Merry Christmas to all of you. Thank you for continuing to support this little channel and for stopping by today or any other day.
This animatic is one that I worked on and thought about a lot, in fact it has been my favorite song since each fragment came out.
Penelope is such an intelligent and strong character, I love developing that intelligence to show how even people like her can be vulnerable.
Now I will mention all the references I made in the animatic and that I thought about so much.
I put a lot of emphasis on her hair, especially how it is shown. When it is perfectly arranged and she has just met once again with the suitors, she is under her facade so that they do not show interest.
After seeing the sign of Athena, she lets her hair down in a ponytail and adds the bow that she herself gave to Polites, Euryculus and Odysseus. Using Polites' phrase, "she welcomes the world with open arms."
Finally when she thinks, has an inner monologue or something like that her hair appears loose because she is being sincere and expressing exactly what she feels.
Penelope is from Sparta, so I think that as our Spartan queen would always carry a knife in case someone wanted to overstep her, throwing that knife represents leaving everything behind to give them the "chance" to be kings.
For me Penelope recognized Odysseus in the crowd, she wanted to cry, throw herself at him and hug him but she couldn't, nor should she. So she held it all back and watched him walk away.
And if there are two mentions of Athena because I love her, if you notice there are many details in the castle that reference her. Personally I think that Penelope and Athena were good friends.
