Nearby the city of Alghero, you can find Neptune's Grotto at Capo Caccia. There are two ways to get to this cave. One is by boat from Alghero the other one is by foot. We went on foot.
Capo Caccia is a 110meter high cliff, and the entrance lies at 1 meter Sealevel. That's also why it's closed with rough sea weather. The stairway called "Escala del Cabirol", goat's steps with its 654-steps will take you down. Once we arrived at the parking lot in Capo Caccia, our descending could start.
The walk down is astonishing. Take your time to admire the cliff, the sea and all the birds flying around. We recommend doing this walk or in the morning or in the evening on hot summer days.
A guide will take you through a 1km walk in the cave. We liked this cave, but in our opinion, Sardinia has different caves that beat this one. But none beats the entrance of this one.
