Sussex resumed on 228-4 on day 4 with Wright and Joyce at the crease. The pair continued to bat well and took Sussex into the lead for the first time in the match. Joyce was out just before lunch, just short of his century and was followed by Brown and then Jordan just after lunch. Beer then joined Wright at the crease and they added 101 runs for the 8th wicket partnership before Beer was out for 39. Wright was finally out for a career best 187 and Sussex were finally all out for 454, leaving Middlesex needing 178 runs to win off 20 overs. Middlesex gave it a go but when they were 50-3 after 8 overs the match was declared a draw.
