Because of Covid 19 and because my wife is very high risk, we don't want anyone in our home we don' know well. Our method of cleaning our dryer vent has worked well for us because we don't need anyone in our home, who could be infected, to do this for us. All the places we called said they can't just do it from the roof. They need to come in as well. So.... We use an electric leaf blower.
AN UPDATE... After about a year, we felt safer having a professional come in our home and do this every so often, but we maintain it ourselves in between visits. We go in the attic to be sure the vents are in place and in good shape. We had the professional tell us where to look for problems.
We usually get a little more lint shooting out than you see, not much more, but by the time I got the camera out there, most had already blown out. We have no way of verifying that all the lint has been removed. So, there is a risk if doing it ourselves, but we are willing to take that chance rather than having someone possibly with Covid in our home doing the work. It may be a risk for you to do this as well. Obviously, the most efficient way to clean it is by a professional.
