The Congress in Rajasthan has been thrown into confusion, with members loyal to chief minister Ashok Gehlot threatening to bring down the government unless they get to choose his successor, and signaling that former deputy CM Sachin Pilot's candidacy would be unacceptable. According to sources close to the situation, Congress President Sonia Gandhi will meet Gehlot, Pilot, and senior politicians Mallikarjun Kharge and Ajay Maken in Delhi on Monday to address the matter. As this publication went to print, it was unclear whether a planned Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meeting would take place, but Maken and Kharge were meeting ministers Shanti Dhariwal and Pratap Singh Kacharariyawas at the CM's house.
