Rostislav Verkhulevskiy was one of the first soloists of the ensemble. Starting in 1929. He was dismissed due to staff reductions and his age in 1941 but returned in 1945 as a choir member until he retired in 1953. This recording is dated from 1936, a year before he recorded the more commonly heard 1937 version of this song.
