This is the Howard families Anzac Day ceremony for 2020. We recorded this as the normal Anzac Day Ceremony in the city has been cancelled due to the corona virus.
The RED POPPY symbolizes peace, death and sleep of the fallen servicemen/woman.
The 'Ode' comes from the poem "For the Fallen", which was written by Laurence Binyon. The verse, which is commonly known as 'The Ode Of Remembrance', is as follows:
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."
