In Charlottetown, Dennis King, the premier of Prince Edward Island, Dr. Heather Morrison, the P.E.I.
chief public health officer, and Marion Dowling, Health P.E.I.’s COVID-19 response lead,
provide an update on the province’s response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic.
The province's state of emergency has been extended to June 14. The premier also announces the plan to welcome seasonal residents back to the island. Starting June 1, people with seasonal residences will be able to submit applications. As P.E.I. moves to phase 3 of its COVID-19 recovery plan, limited visits to long-term care facilities will be allowed beginning June 1. More businesses will also be allowed to reopen.
