BREAKING: West Australian Premier Mark McGowan has confirmed the state's border restrictions for residents from New South Wales and Victoria are set to ease, under certain conditions, from 12:01am on Tuesday, December 8.
The premier confirmed he had received updated health advice that the two states are to be characterised as “very low risk”.
“They will join the ACT, Queensland, Northern Territory and Tasmania as very low-risk jurisdictions,” he said during a press conference on Tuesday.
He said travel for those jurisdictions, into the state, will be permitted under the following conditions: "One, all Perth Airport arrivals must undergo a health screening and temperature test on arrival.
“Two, travellers must be prepared to take a COVID-19 test at the airport COVID clinic if deemed necessary by a health clinician.
“Three, travellers must complete a G2G pass declaration stipulating they do not have any COVID-19 symptoms and which jurisdictions they have been in for the past 14 days.
“Four, travellers must confirm they have not knowingly mixed with anyone from South Australia.
“And five, land arrivals will be met at the border checkpoint for health screening and to have their G2G pass declaration checked,” He said.
He said 14-days of self-isolation will no longer be required for people within these jurisdictions, except South Australia, from December 8.
