Floods pose a common and deadly danger to Central Asia, which have enormous costs in terms of lives and livelihoods. The Central Asian Flood Early Warning System (CAFEWS), supported by the World Bank and World Meteorological Organization, seeks to provide a single online platform for use across the region that will help improve prediction of the location and timing of extreme weather and floods.
