The United nations office of the High commissioner for Human rights, has raised concerns over increasing tension in the Democratic Republic of Congo, ahead of the announcement of provisional results on January 6th. This comes 5 days after the government shutdown the internet, a move interpreted by the opposition as a way to manipulate the poll outcome. At the same time, leaders from DRC's Catholic church, say they know who has won Sunday's presidential election, and is demanding that the electoral commission publish accurate results.
