Ahhh, Colorado, the centennial state. Arguably one of the most scenic states in the US. The mountainous area of Colorado is six times the size of Switzerland and contains over 1,000 peaks that are at least two miles high.
But another amazing thing about Colorado, well you’ll just have to visit in the Fall to find out!
Here are our top 3 places to check out the unique foliage in colorful Colorado:
First up is Vail - Set within White River National Forest, this charming mountain town has no shortage of trees! The Betty Ford Alpine Gardens are the world's highest botanical garden and during the fall, the colors really come alive! Time your fall visit to this alpine village just right and you can partake in Vail’s annual Oktoberfest celebration.
Continuing on our colorful Colorado adventure, we head to the town of Golden, home of Golden Gate State Park. This magnificent park is located less than 100 miles east of Vail and just under an hour west of Denver.
Here, you’ll find 42 miles of hiking trails, an amazing way to enjoy the beautiful, colorful, golden aspen trees.
For our final foliage stop, we head north to one of the largest national parks in the US – Rocky Mountain National Park. In order to best experience expansive views within the park, take a drive on the popular Trail Ridge Road.
But also be sure to stretch your legs on the over 350 miles of maintained trails and paved pathways. In addition to beautiful trees, keep your eyes peeled for spectacular wildlife!
