In this event series, will give you the opportunity to learn about the wide range of career opportunities for women in the sector and hear from women in various roles about their journeys and what they love about working in construction. So, whether you're just commencing your career or looking to change your career, this is a great opportunity to find out what construction & the built environment has to offer you and how your existing skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, planning & organising can be utilised.
In part two of the MCA Women in Construction event series, we look at the various myths surrounding women in construction and smashes them.
The myths we will be covering in this event are as follows;
- Construction and the built environment is just for the boys. At Breyer 27% of employees are female
- Women only do admin support roles within construction. At Wates there women in professional roles on most sites
- Working in construction is dangerous & bad for your health
- Construction is an old-fashioned & very traditional industry
- Working in construction means doing a practical job & working out in the cold
- Construction & built environment is just for white people
