Building a pond at the Hancock museum at Newcastle. The main structure was put in by the contractors who were refurbishing the museum, but I was called in to advise on ways the faults in construction could be rectified. When the contractor did not rectify the problems, I took over the job and made the project work as the architect had planned. There was still however, no provision for a top-up chamber as the surrounds had already been set when the pond began. The electricity supply was re-routed (from the middle of the pond!), the steps were lowered, pond was dug deeper and provision was made to house the filter. The base of the pond was concreted, then rendered and painted with specialist pond paint. The contractors had got the levels perfect on the steps so the water sheds very well across the falls. Native planting was added and the contractors fitted the capping around the pond to finish the project. I did not fit the electrical box on the rear of the pond - it is very cock-eyed.
