Within the latest edition of the UK wiring regulations BS7671 18th Edition Amendment 2, AFDDs (arc fault detection device) are now required on socket circuits within specific electrical installations.
Gary Hayers takes a trip to the test lab of Lewden Palazzoli UK to find out how an AFDD works.
The test rig show can replicate arcs defined in the product standard for AFDDs BS EN62606.
