The King Street Pilot Project, which prioritizes public transit on the thoroughfare, appears to be a success. The city says ridership has increased 35 per cent during the morning rush, and 27 per cent during the evening commute. To the local businesses that say they’ve been hurt by the project, Mayor John Tory says the venture is in the public good, but the city will working to make sure businesses “thrive.”
