The GWSR Summer Diesel Gala 2022 - my 29/7/2022 visit. The star of the show was evidently Royal Highland Fusilier, one of the preserved “Deltics”, or class 55. She was running one engine only, not two today.

This locomotive was the visiting ‘guest’ this Summer, belonging to the Deltic Preservation Society, based at Barrow Hill Roundhouse, Chesterfield S43 2PR: www.thedps.co.uk

These locomotive types were in operation on this day: 20, 24, 37, 45, 47, & 55 - from a carthorse to a racehorse, if you like.
